Overall, the game is definitely a "satisfactory" Need for Speed experience, but since the progression system angered you so much at launch, I doubt the current system even after patches will please you. The game also now continually gives you so many free loot boxes during regular play, so there's no real need to purchase them any longer. Regarding the restock timers, Performance Shops now cycle their stock ever 5-10 minutes, instead of the 30 minutes at launch. As you're playing the story, progression is still the same as usual. That system still exists, but now you can purchase (with standard in-game cash) "Catch-Up-Packs" of various Primary Card Levels, but only in the post-game, to upgrade your cars faster. In case you forgot, you levelled up your cars with Speedcards which had Primary Levels (1-18), Secondary Brand perks, and Tertiary Stat Perks. No, the progression system has NOT been overhauled, but it has been improved. Since your main issues about the game were to do with progression, I'll keep my reply focused on that aspect:
